After discovering the spectacular Sotavento Beach and the extraordinary wind conditions in Fuerteventura, René, a passionate windsurfer, wanted to convert the destination into the favourite location for all windsurfing and kitesurfing fans. With only 8 boards and 30 sails, in 1987 he created the René Egli by Meliá Centre, a school which now has more than 35 years of experience and has made the south of Fuerteventura a magnet for surfers worldwide. Ideal facilities alongside the beach for enjoying the wind and waves, windsurfing, kitesurfing and wingfoil lessons, and the most amazing chill out environment by the sea.
