In Dresden, the Christmas market traditions have been enjoyed for more than 580 years. Striezelmarkt is the most famous Christmas market in Germany. The focus is on local offers, with dozens of merchants offering fresh and original products every day. There is a romantic atmosphere throughout the city and many excited children.

Striezlmarkt

The first Striezelmarkt took place in 1434. You should not miss the world's largest Erzgebirge Christmas pyramid, 14.61 metres tall, and the world's largest walk-through candle arch as well as a Christmas cultural programme every day. Located at the Altmarkt, merchants offer traditional Erzgebirge art and small gifts. Culinary delights include bratwurst, mulled wine or mulled beer and plum potato.

Stallhöfisches Adventsspektakel

A medieval Christmas market in the Stallhof, inside the Dresden Residence Palace. An ancient atmosphere created by jugglers and minstrels. Delve into history and drink a hot mulled wine while enjoying time with friends in two huge tubs located in the public bathhouse.
